EXCURSIONS FOR EVERYONE
The highest part of Monte Baldo above Malcesine is suitable for experienced cyclists. The lower routes at San Michele, in the southern part of Monte Baldo and in the hilly areas of Brenzone, are suitable for most cyclists. If you prefer a quiet and safe ride along the beach, you have 17 km of cycle paths that connect Navene (north of Malcesine) to Brenzone at your disposal. This is an excellent opportunity to visit the small villages and harbours, far from the traffic of the Gardesana road.
The routes and paths from Malcesine to San Michele (intermediate station of the cable car), Brenzone and San Zeno di Montagna are almost all easy or medium-easy; they are excellent if you want to do a little 'uphill and downhill’ cycling on asphalt roads and dirt tracks, undergrowth and mule tracks. Thanks to the low altitude, these paths are accessible all year round.
EXPERIENCED BIKERS
From San Michele to Monte Baldo, and in the higher parts of the mountain, there are more open, longer and challenging routes, which are recommended if you have good technique or athletic preparation. At Prada/Costabella, above San Zeno di Montagna, you will find beautiful enduro and cross country routes that are less demanding than those in Malcesine. We recommend this area if you are not very confident on the trails and want to improve. The only easy route that leads from the peaks of Monte Baldo to Malcesine descends from the eastern side and is referred to as the "Red Tour".
The peaks of Monte Baldo cannot be reached by bike from Malcesine.
